The love afair with this notebook started at the BLACKBIRD store in Seattle, where we took this set of notebooks, bound them together with black "tar" and named them the "Tar Notebook".
Today you can buy them with out the tar, but if you ask nicely, we might have one of the old tar versions sitting around for the collector.
